Ep 1 Project ADU - Once the plans are approved

This is the beginning of the build of a standalone ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit). Since the beginning of the housing crisis of 2020, ADU's popularity has exploded. In fact, in the State of California, state laws enacted have allowed homeowners to bypass any CC&R or HOA restrictions to add an ADU, attached or detached from most residences. This was enacted to combat housing shortages. This project was the result of a program that provided funds to help homeowners in building ADU's. But that was only in this case. Since the end of that program, the popularity of ADU's are still on the rise.
Come along with me on this adventure of building this detached ADU from the ground up. From the pouring of the foundation, to the final walk-through. I hope that this will be educational as well as entertaining.

I have been in the lending business since 1979. I have seen almost every trend, but that does not mean new ones are around the corner.
I have always had a love of seeing homes once abandoned or turn of the century and historical homes revitalized. Some with complete modernization and others keeping the original charm, but with modern amenities.
