Vladimir Putin has completed his state visit to the DPRK. The country's leader Kim Jong-un, who met the Russian leader at the airport last night, escorted him to the plane's steps about 21 hours later. The Russian President was seen off by a crowd of thousands of Pyongyang residents.
Vladimir Putin's state visit to Pyongyang was fruitful: a strategic partnership agreement was signed between Russia and the DPRK (it provides for mutual assistance in the event of aggression against one of the parties to the agreement). The leaders also agreed to defend the ideas of a multipolar world and resist the dictates and blackmail of the West. There was also room for informal events in the busy schedule. Vladimir Putin and the DPRK leader Kim Jong-un visited a memorial to the Soviet soldiers who liberated the Korean Peninsula from the Japanese invaders, attended a grand concert, and a gala reception was held before the end of the visit.

As Vladimir Putin's motorcade returned to the airport, thousands of people with flowers and flags lined the central streets of Pyongyang. The line of people seeing off the Russian president's motorcade stretched for at least twenty kilometers. In addition to the military corps and honor guard, several thousand people gathered at the airport itself: people lined up along the red carpet that stretched along the airport terminal all the way to the steps of the Russian Il-96. Many held large banners that read "Friendship and Solidarity" in Russian. There was even a separate column of children aged 7-10. The girls in elegant light dresses held bright balloons in their hands. The people seeing them off waved until Putin's plane took off.
