The legislation is known as the "Taylor Swift bills" after the bots snatched up tickets to her Eras Tour stop in Detroit last year and drove up the resale prices. Fines of up to five-thousand-dollars for every ticket purchased are included in the legislation. State Representative Mike McFall of the Detroit area says there is a federal law against the practice, but he says the federal government is not taking any action and that's why the bipartisan legislation was introduced.
