Peter O’Rourke: VA needs to align with states, local partners' efforts to support veterans

Former Acting VA Secretary Peter O’Rourke urges the Department of Veterans Affairs to join forces with local communities to support veterans. “Very few times does [the VA] truly integrate with its local partners in a way where it doesn’t have to be first. It can be supportive; it can be complimentary to other services in a community. And we know that we’ve got some great governors out there and other state leaders that are just chomping at the bit to be a part of the solution,” he says.
