Terry Matalas of Star Trek: Picard acclaim has been tapped to write the script for the upcoming remake of Enemy Mine, the 1985 cult classic sci-fi film. Currently, no director is attached to the project, and no actors have cast in the upcoming film.

Enemy Mine starred Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett Jr. as members of opposing species in the midst of an intergalactic war. When Quaid and Gossett become trapped on a desolate planet, the two must overcome their prejudices and work together to survive. The situation becomes more dire, as Quaid is asked to oversee the raising of Gossett's child, once he becomes unavailable.

Enemy Mine was initially a box office flop, but has since seen a reappraisal and become a cult classic film.
