The 2007 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo featured on the Castle Esplanade the debut of Russia's prestigious Band of the Moscow Military Conservatoire, Institute of Military Conductors which was established as a school for mllitary conductors in Moscow in 1935.

The band is widely regarded as Russia's international musical ambassadors and one of the country's most potent instruments of goodwill providing superb entertainment and a taste of Russia through it's inspiring music.

The band is known for it's accomplished performing style together with it's interpretations of celebrated Russian composers such as Tschaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Borodin and Rimsky-Korsakov, the band is also know for performing every show as though it may be their last.

Every musician within the band is a future military conductor, it is one of it's kind with each member contributing his own interpretive sense and vision towards the musical pieces they perform. While these talented musicians travel and perform regularly throughout their homeland they also put on concerts internationally in locations such as Germany, France, Belgium, Italy and Denmark.

The band's conductor is Lieteant Colonel Igor Tsupikov.
