NASA’s Voyager 1 interstellar probe is now sending usable data from all four of its science instruments after a seven-month disruption.

In November 2023, the probe encountered a technical issue causing it to send nonsensical signals.

Engineers identified the problem in April 2024 by commanding the flight data subsystem (FDS) to send readable messages, revealing a glitch on a computer chip.

They remotely altered the FDS code, restoring the probe’s functionality from billions of miles away.

NASA announced that all four science instruments aboard Voyager 1 have resumed sending usable data as of recent adjustments, Live Science has reported.
