"The Experts" vs Generalists in Politics, Science, & Law w/Eva Chipiuk | A Critical Compass Clip

During the pandemic, we saw some major developments in various high level political institutions and industries which can accurately be described as tunnel vision, blindspots, or hyper-specialization to the point where it felt that our elected officials and scientific thought leaders both knew everything and nothing about how to properly manage and navigate a developing public health situation.

In this Critical Compass clip, Mike and James discuss political blindspots, the sometimes nonsensical and contradictory messaging of our public institutions, and the need for more "Deep Generalists" rather than specialists or "Experts" in the public discourse.
