The Drums Of Jeopardy (1931) Horror Crime Drama Full Movie

The Drums of Jeopardy 1931 is an American pre-Code horror crime drama movie directed by George B. Seitz and starring Warner Oland, June Collyer and Lloyd Hughes. It is the second film adaptation of Harold McGrath's novel of the same name, and stars Oland as Dr. Boris Karlov.

In the Russian Empire, the nobleman Prince Gregor Petroff seduces Anya, the daughter of chemist Boris Karlov. Anya, devastated after becoming pregnant, commits suicide, leaving behind the Drums of Jeopardy, a necklace owned by the Petroff family, near her body. Enraged by his daughter's death, Karlov vows to take revenge on the Petroff family.

Dr. Karlov invents a deadly poison gas with the intent of annihilating the Petroffs. Following the Russian Revolution, he aligns himself with the Bolsheviks and succeeds in killing a general from the Petroff family. The remaining Petroffs are evacuated to New York City with the help of the U.S. Secret Service.

Determined to exact his revenge, Karlov tracks the Petroffs to America and traps them in a safe house in New Jersey. Despite Gregor's attempt to shift the blame onto Nicholas, Karlov kills Gregor and attempts to coerce Nicholas into murdering his love interest, Kitty Conover. However, the police arrive in time to rescue them, and Karlov is ultimately killed by his own poison gas.
