The Tall Men is set in 1866, after the American Civil War. Two brothers, Ben (Clark Gable) and Clint (Cameron Mitchell), join a cattle drive from Texas to Montana. Along the way, they encounter a tribe of Native Americans and save the spirited Nella Turner (Jane Russell), who is on her way to join her father in Montana. Ben and Nella develop romantic feelings for each other, but Nella’s desire for wealth and luxury creates tension in their relationship. Meanwhile, the cattle drivers face challenges from Jayhawkers, angry Sioux, and rough terrain.
