1000 greatest works of literature of all time!

There are 1 000 great works of literature so far and the list is growing more and more because literature is about those considered to have creative or artistic merit or lasting value and deemed to have intellectual value. The greatest works of literature comprises of eight main sections. These are Ancient literature, medieval Literature, renaissance literature, 18th century, 19th-century, early 20th century, late 20th century and recent publications. To save you time instead of naming all 1 000 works of great literature. I am going to just name few novels and authors from the eight sections spanning from ancient time to the present day. ( Please This is not a list of the greatest novels which is a very heated debate topic). A full list of the 1000 greatest works of literature will be coming out in a future date so stay tuned.

What is the Canterbury Tales about? The Canterbury Tales is written by Geoffrey Chaucer. The Canterbury Tales are written in a combination of verses and prose, which tells the stories of some 30 pilgrims walking from Southwark to Canterbury on a pilgrimage to the shrine of St Thomas Beckett. On route, the pilgrims engage in a story telling competition to win a meal at the Tabard Inn! Some of the tales are Merchants Tale and the Wife of Bath
