More than 90 countries and internationalorganisations are attending the Ukraine peace summitin Switzerland, aimed at creating the broadest possiblebacking for a process that could help end the war in Ukraine.

On Friday, Vladimir Putin claimed he would agree to aceasefire if Ukraine withdrew troops from four regionswhich Russia partially occupies and claims to have annexed.

Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni called the Russianpresident's plan "propaganda" which effectivelysuggested that Ukraine "must withdraw from Ukraine".

Russia has not been invited, and its biggest backerChina is not present, leading some to cast doubt onthe summit's effectiveness.
