Be Equipped with the Armor of God - The Spiritual Battle Intensifies (pt. 2)

As we discussed last we are to stand strong against the wiles of the enemy. The only way to do that is to put on the armor of God and get on our knees in prayer. The bible tells us in Isaiah that God Himself put on His armor to demonstrate who He is and the great power He possesses. God once again gives us the perfect example of how to combat the evil that surrounds us.

The question is quite simple, would you go into battle with half the armor? Which pieces would you leave behind? In ancient times going into battle was very difficult if not impossible to win without an offensive weapon. As a Roman soldier you would never enter the battle field without your sword.

This we know as the truth, the devil is relentless and will never stop driving us to sin. We are in hand to hand combat. All this means is we need to be confident in the word of God, be faithful in sharing the peace of Jesus knowing that our salvation is secured through Jesus Christ the Son of God.

The armor provides both offensive and defensive capabilities which spiritual battle requires spiritual resources to fight it. The armor is required every day enabling us to get through our battles. We must always stay alert and on the ready to pray and stand in the gap for those who cannot stand for themselves.

The battle is won and lost on our knees in prayer and supplication for all things. This coupled with the belt, the breastplate, the sandals, the shield, the helmet and the sword equip us for every spiritual battle. There is no better place to be than in God's army wearing God's armor when we are in the beginning or the midst of a spiritual battle.

Putting on the armor of God means that we will live upright in an ethical way. The sword creates a union with Christ which allows us to fight these spiritual battles. We are living in times where most everything does not make much sense anymore. We are certainly as the bible describes it as living in the last days. The demonic attacks that we see on a daily basis have increased and will continue to increase until our Lord and Savior returns to call His church home.

God has equipped us to fight but it is our choice to do so. He has given us the most powerful offensive weapon in the world and that is His word. He has given us the opportunity to rely on Him, to call on Him and to fight for us. His power is given to us through prayer, faith, and obedience in trusting in Him that His promises to lead us and protect us are true. God promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us. So what commitment are you ready to make with God? Are you committed to put on God's armor today and for the rest of your life? Are you willing to get in the fight for the souls of your loved ones? Are you ready to stand and fight for the children today? Just who are you committed to?

My prayer is that we would all be committed to wearing the armor of God and that we would be bold in sharing the gospel of Jesus. I pray that we would live uprightly and ethically everyday of our life and that we would put God as the leader of our army rejecting the sins of the world while glorifying God with every breath, every word and every action we take for the rest of days. In the Mighty Name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray in Jesus Mighty Name Amen! Amen!
