Doctors under Hitler: The most influential profession of Nazi Germany (1)

The influence of Doctors under Nazi Germany has been downplayed by both Modern day doctors and medical institutions as a cheap stereotype where other professions were just as characteristic of the Nazi regime. For years victims of Nazi atrocities in Germany were not recognized and the medical establishment of Nazi Germany did not apologize until 2012 for their extreme involvement in Nazi crimes, even covering up investigations. Michael Kater who discerned the most comprehensive historical investigation of the role of Doctors in Nazi crimes in his book 'Doctors under Hitler' makes the facts clear however. Doctors were the most overrepresented profession in the Nazi Party and did more than any other profession to support the nefarious regime. Going further than Kater, deeper into psychology, philosophy, psychoanalysis and more the question to be answered is: Why did doctors support Nazi Germany more than any other profession?

Here in part 1 of this video series, the historical facts and Kater's book will be focused on to provide a basis for a further analysis.
