Summary my friend got ghosted by a guy and now hes allegedly seeing someone else now.

Yes, the mature thing would be to break it off and end things properly, but that’s not what he did and of course this goes without saying is totally OK to change your mind about liking them. You just have to end things instead of stringing someone along.
