Minute of Murder- The Arizona Serial Shooters

In the summer of 2005, Phoenix, Arizona, was gripped with fear as a pair of serial shooters targeted innocent victims at random.

Dale Hausner and Samuel Dieteman, armed with a .22 caliber rifle, cruised the streets, seeking out their next targets. They attacked pedestrians, cyclists, and even animals, leaving a trail of terror in their wake.

July 2005 marked the start of their violent spree. Over the next year, they killed 8 people and wounded at least 19 others.

Their reign of terror ended on August 3, 2006, when they were arrested following a tip from an acquaintance. The police uncovered their weapons and other evidence linking them to the shootings.

In 2009, Dale Hausner was sentenced to death and later died by suicide in prison. Samuel Dieteman received a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

Though justice was served, the scars left on the community of Phoenix remain. The Arizona Serial Shooters' case is a chilling reminder of how random violence can shatter lives.
