Playmates Tomb Raider Lara Croft in Wet suit statue 1998

Today we open a Tomb Raider. I remember being very surprised to find the Tomb Raider dioramas in Walmart back in the late 90s. I bought one of each of the carded sets at the time. I stored them for many years and sold them unfortunatly. The packaging on the carded dioramas was beautiful. If you are interested in Tomb Raider and can find them they would certainly display beautify in or out of the packaging. Playmates did some great work on this line. Lara was well packaged. Not only was she strapped in but her base was screwed on to the cardboard to keep her safe. To remove the last of the packaging I unscrewed the screws attaching her to the base. Lara's spear gun hand is one piece so you can not remove the spear gun. Her pistols sit snug the holsters on her hips but can be easily removed. They do not fit in her free hand though. There is some sort of damage or crust on her abs where one of the straps rested. I think there may have been a bit of plastic there to keep the strap from rubbing off the paint. It seems to have disintegrated and caused some crusty marks on her abs. I will see if i can clean that off. It may need some sanding and repainting though and it is not noticeable enough for me to go to that much trouble. I did not notice while I was filming but I found out there is a bit of articulation on this statue. You can turn her head side to side and her harpoon arm is on a swivel so you can move it up and down. I am very happy with this statue. If I can get my hands on more from this line I will unbox it here. Thank you for watching. Take it easy.
