The group breaks in and smashes display cases, while two workers were startled by a noise fled behind doors inside the store in Sunnyvale, California

Within 20 seconds, several people in mostly black clothing smashed through two sets of glass doors to enter the store.

They used hammers and other tools to break glass and grab necklaces, bracelets, and rings.

The suspects then led cops in a chase, and some threw stolen jewelry out of a vehicle while fleeing.

Authorities have not yet estimated the amount of damage or merchandise taken.

Police arrested five suspects after they attempted to flee by running across
Highway 101.

They were booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of numerous offenses, including armed robbery, felony vehicle evasion, resisting arrest and vandalism.
