Douglas V Gibbs joins me for a historical look at the US Bill of Rights and why it was or wasn't necessary according to the Founding Generation.

We start with the Magna Carta and go through the English Bill of Rights, Virgina Constitution, and the Ratifying Conventions. We compare the views of George Mason, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison, among others.

The Bill of Rights is not exactly what your history books told you it is.
