The Main Cathedral in Palermo, Sicily

We are at the main Cathedral in Palermo, Sicily. Battles were fought here over the centuries for the control of this site of worship. Each new conqueror left their architectural mark on this spectacular building – the Arabs, Normans, Byzantines and the Renaissance styles are all seen. Inside (see link to pictorial below) you will see a sun tracking line that runs through the Cathedral. It was used to tell the time, the months and most importantly in the Christian church, the date for Easter, according to the Spring equinox.
