Nimble Ferret Shares Precious Relationship With Gentle Mastiff

It is almost a fact of life by now. Sharing a kind and loving friendship does not recognize gender, race, age or species. When you find a kindred spirit in someone, they can be tall, short, black, fawn, thin or thick. They can even be a big dog and a tiny, nimble ferret, if they share the same penchant for play. Like these two do.

Thor, a very gentle Mastiff pup, has an unlikely friendship with a young ferret named Frank. Watching them play together is such a cuteness overload!

Basically, it is like a dog made friends with a cat. Ferrets have so much in common with the feline species, from the type of food they prefer, to the way they like to play with others. And they like to show off how tough they are, when it reality all it takes is one firm stomp of Thor’s paw to keep Frank in place. But that is not how Thor or Frank play when with each other.

Instead, the ferret wraps himself around Thor’s face and nibbles him gently on the lips. When he starts to get rough, the Mastiff grabs the ferret by the neck and holds him there for a second or two, then releases him. And they do that over and over and over again, with no sign of relent.

These interspecies friendships is what we love most about our job here. Watching endless hours of videos with all sorts of different animals cuddling and playing in harmony warms our hearts and makes us wish we had such pets around.
