Aeroplanes have been unable to take off fromMajorca's Palma Airport because of flooding on the runway.
A storm caused nearly 9cm of rain to fall in less thanan hour in Palma, leading airport officials to activate an emergency plan.
Eyewitnesses reported chaotic scenes of passengersrunning for cover from water pouring through the roof of Spain's third biggest airport.
