Isn't this patient just darling? She's a beauty, who's got a great outlook on life, and just sought us out because she wants help getting these annoying bumps off of her skin. Let's find out what they are! This was a fun one. Part 2 will be published tomorrow.

Thank you for watching!!

Eruptive Vellus Hair Cysts, EVHCs, appear as multiple, maybe even 100s of 1-4 mm skin colored or hyper pigmented / bluish dome shaped papules on mid chest and upper extremities. These tend to be smaller than steatocystomas and can have a central area of umbilication (almost like a punctum). Steatocystoma may at times have vellus hairs, and EVHCs may have sebaceous glands (oil glands) in their lining, which leads some dermatologists to believe these two conditions may lie along a continuum, that they may be related. Treatment is gentle extraction. There is a high chance of recurrence if a CO2 laser is used to extract them, and topical tazarotene has also been used, but is an inferior treatment.
