lawsuit has been filed against Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital

Alexander Morris says he was battered by some staff members and racially discriminated against in April of 2023 when he was seeking help for a breathing issue. The suit claims hospital staff did not believe he was a member of the group and he was placed in restraints and ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation. It was only after his wife arrived and proved his identity that the staff changed their minds. Morris says he was offered a 25-dollar gift card as part of an apology but he declined the offer. He's seeking over 75-thousand dollars in damages.
