Manhattan Canvas: lyrics ( written in the summer of 2021)

I've heard it called the Age of Spin
And I wouldn't know just where to begin
It feels like a 747 is crashing every day
I won't turn you away, this time

I've heard it called the Age of Consequence
And I find it hard to make much sense
As the pressure swells from the division bell,
Tolling every day;
Must I turn you away, because we don't see eye to eye?

I've heard it called the Apocalypse
And there's more than one kind of eclipse
You can read the dimming of the light
By the shadow that you raise

I watched a Manhattan street artist
With spray paint cans and a blank canvas,
Do a city scape with 2 towers and a bridge,
That lit up the bay
So take my breath away
And I'll return your gaze
Maybe with a smile
