Jeremiah 33-35 "Faithful & Obedient" 6/5/24

Jeremiah is basically under house arrest; he is not free to go, much like Paul was in Rome.
God begins this message to Jeremiah by telling him that He is going to show him great and mighty things…things to come.
He is God. He knows the beginning from the end. Before the siege began, God knew how it would end.
What I am about to say I am guilty of; it baffles my mind why we turn everywhere but God when we face a trial.
The leadership of Judah turned to the Egyptians for help that never came, and then, as we will see, they tried to bribe God to help them.
On the boat on the Sea of Galilee, when it was about to capsize, while Jesus was sleeping.
Those experienced fishermen did everything within their power and knowledge to solve the problem while Jesus was just feet away from them.
When they exhausted everything in their power, they woke Jesus up and asked for His help.
That’s us…we do everything in our own power to correct the situation while Jesus is just a prayer away.
Why don’t we go to Him first and ask Him for His guidance? Do we ever think He has brought us to this trail to teach us something?
Just because we are His doesn’t mean He will not allow trials in our lives to help us grow spiritually.
