A devastating sight unfolds in Mexico’s Chihuahua state as thousands of dead fish cover the surface of Bustillos Lagoon, near Anahuac town, attributed to a severe drought.

With temperatures soaring above 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) and water levels drastically low, officials express concerns over the lagoon’s ecological health.

Nearly 90% of Mexico grapples with drought, marking the highest rate since 2011, with Chihuahua severely impacted by extreme dryness, CNN reported.
