Moving a larger man is not easy. In a street fight, or in an altercation that is not yet a fight you may need to move someone out of your way to distract them, take control, or create an escape route before things progress to a full on fight. Bottom line, you need a technique for moving bodies that works against larger stronger attackers.

In this video Diallo Frazier shows you an effective way to move bodies in a street fight. The key to this move is moving the shoulder upward to tilt their torso. People are prepared to be pushed, then know how to brace for it. And if a big guy is in a fighting stance there is very little chance you’ll upset his balance. Pushing the shoulder upward is not expected, and when combined with walking through, it has a much better chance of actually disrupting his balance to achieve your goal.

Now in some cases a larger man will overcome your drive with his size and strength, that’s where the pull comes in. This is a sneaky move. In order to resist your upward push and forward drive a man has to push against you and push downward. DON’T FIGHT A LARGER MAN’S STRENGTH. Instead, quickly shift gears and pull him downward and toward you as you angle offline. When done correctly his own strength will help you drive him right into the ground.

Remember, in street fight your goal is survival. This technique is not about knocking a guy out. It’s about moving someone away from you or a loved one so you can escape. Sure in some cases you may have to stick around and fight it out, but in most cases you should escape to safety as soon as possible. That’s what this move is all about. As Diallo says in the video you never know who else is around, fighting2 or 3 guys is a bad idea. Move bodies and make your escape.
