France's snap election risks opening door to far-right, says analyst

A snap election called by President Emmanuel Macron after Sunday's (June 9) bruising loss to Marine Le Pen’s National Rally (RN) in EU elections is a risky move that "opens the possibility that the extreme right arises," Anne Muxel, the executive director of Sciences Po's Centre of Political Sciences, said on Monday (June 10).
