Trump proposes ending taxation of tips | Crowd chants 'Happy Birthday' to Donald Trump in Nevada

Rally-goers in Nevada on Sunday gave former US President Trump a raucous "Happy Birthday" ahead of his 78th birthday on June 14.

Trump appeared uncomfortable until it ended, later admitting, "At a certain age, you don’t like acknowledging birthdays".

During the Las Vegas rally, Trump promised to end taxation on income from tips.

"So, this is the first time I've said this," he said.

"And for those hotel workers and people that get tips, you are going to be very happy, because when I get to office, we are going to not charge taxes on tips, people making tips."

The appeal to service workers targets Nevada, a key swing state leaning towards him for the November 5 election.
