Grin & Guardian Gang | Education and Emergency: Lester Lion’s Lessons

13

In this episode, we sit down with Donna M. Cramer, a retired special education teacher from Massachusetts. With over 20 years of experience working with young special needs students, Donna's career was unfortunately cut short due to a life-altering brain injury sustained while on the job. Despite this setback, she has channeled her passion for teaching into writing children's books, aiming to help children understand important life skills.
Donna shares her journey from the classroom to becoming an author, inspired by her experiences where she witnessed several students successfully call 911 after being taught this crucial skill. Her book, "Adventures of Lester Lion," continues this mission, teaching children the responsibility and importance of calling 911 in real emergencies.
Later in the episode, we delve into the topic of challenge coins in public safety, exploring their significance and the stories behind these symbolic tokens.
Tune in for an inspiring conversation about resilience, the power of education, and the importance of preparedness.
