Be Equipped with the Armor of God - The Spiritual Battle Intensifies

Do you believe as a Christian we are in spiritual warfare on a daily basis? Or are you someone who believes that fighting amongst each other is just a normal part of life? Have you ever considered that Satan wants to destroy what God has created which as true believers includes you and me?

In this last part of the letter to the (Ephesians 6:10-20) Paul makes two very important points. The first is that we should stay strong in the Lord because the battle continues and also indicating that the battle is spiritual. The second point is that we have a way to prepare for the battle and that is to put on the armor of God.

To live a strong Christian life, if you believe in heaven than you should certainly believe in hell (Matthew 13:49-50). This is the basis of Paul's argument that evil exists as written in the word (Proverbs 8:13). His rationale is that we experience evil on a daily basis as evidenced by what we hear and see around us.

As a true believer we should recognize and acknowledge that we can never fight flesh against spirit. In our own strength we will never win the spiritual battles. If we reflect on the times that we were in the midst of the battle, we can quickly identify the point where we had to cry out to the Lord through prayer, through reading His word and through fellowship to help us, to strengthen us and to fight for us. The armor of God is critical in developing and growing our relationship with the Triune God. As we read Ephesians 6:10-20 the instructions for how and when we put on the armor of God is extremely important.

Remembering that we have a God that we can lean into who has already won the war is the first critical step in to defeating the enemy. The Holy Spirit will remind us that we need the full armor of God to protect us. Some very basic principles to follow as we approach the battle are to hold our ground by putting on the armor of God. This armor prevents the enemy from influencing us in any way. If we resist the devil than he will flee. God is power and we have access to His power by wearing His armor. The expectation is full commitment to fighting when putting on His armor. Your intentions when going into battle must be sincere and direct. There is no more time to waste as the wages of spiritual warfare continue to increase as the time of Jesus' return gets closer.

My prayer is that we seek the Lord every day and we put the armor of God on to protect us from the evil that surrounds us. I pray that we develop a closer more personal relationship with Jesus and that He would be the center of our lives. In Jesus Mighty Name Amen! Amen!
