Prof. Aussie footballer Ollie Wines (29) has had heart palpitations since 2022

MAY 19, 2024. Port Adelaide veteran Ollie Wines has suffered a heart scare in his side's insane one-point victory over Hawthorn on Sunday night. Wines was subbed off in the second term, after he self-reported heart palpitations during the match.

It's not the first time Wines has experienced these heart issues. Back in 2022, he was subbed out of the Power's clash against Melbourne after experiencing similar discomfort.

Wines was rushed to hospital at the time, where it was discovered that he has a heart irregularity: atrial fibrillation. He went on to miss the following week's match, but returned and has had no issues until round 10's clash.

Wines reported the issue at the end of the first term, with attempts from the club doctor to help settle them, but to no avail, according to Port's footy boss, Chris Davies.
