CH 1:3: HIS (the LORD’S) divine power has granted (presented, bestowed) to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of HIM who called us by HIS own glory and excellence.
2:1 But (moreover, also, yet) there were false prophets (pseudo prof-ay-tace ψευδοπροφήτης) also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers (pseudo-dod-id-as-kal-os = false teachers) among you, who privily shall bring in (deceitfully) damnable (destructive) heresies, even denying the LORD that bought them (HIS Deity), and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
3 and in [their] greed (desire for power popularity…) they will exploit you with false words (plastos = plastic molded to fit their false teaching logos = words or reasoning); their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
2COR 11:13-14, For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
