One of the most quoted phrase is, " David was a man who possessed God's heart". The true interpretation of that phrase of passage according to the text itself, was and is, " God was seeking to find a man that would seek his knowledge, his understanding and his wisdom. In this better contextual understanding we could then understand even better why David did certain things according to the text. He did not possessed God's heart as the traditional understanding, rather he seek God's wisdom.
Let us go through the one of the most quoted out of context phrase and let us align it with the right contextual meaning.
