WASHINGTON—United States Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN), a member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies (CJS), today in a hearing pressed Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray on the obvious political weaponization of the justice system to prosecute President Donald Trump. Despite simultaneous, unprecedented prosecutions of the Republican presidential candidate in five separate jurisdictions by partisan Democrat prosecutors—who previously declared their intent to “get Trump”—in the middle of the election, Director Wray refused to address whether this is election interference, which is prohibited under federal law, or simply a coincidence.
