Can't Find VIN
5
The VIN, or Vehicle Identification Number, is crucial for identifying a vehicle's unique characteristics. Today, it's standardized to a 17-digit format, typically found on the windshield's lower corner. However, older vehicles may have VINs in various formats and locations. Check the firewall, chassis, door jamb, or trailer tongue for stamped or printed VINs. Classic cars might even have VINs on the engine. Ensure all VINs match before using them for paperwork, as errors could lead to issues with titles. Take care not to paint over or obscure VINs, especially on older models where they might be on the firewall.
