Building homemade compost part 2

Welcome to 369 Soul Farm! In this lovely headless video I show what a freshly turned compost pile looks like while displaying the newly built compost bin. I used an old pallet from the barn and some scrapwood to construct the bin with hammer and nails. The leaves are about to be loaded into the leaf bin for the season, and used to cover every bucket of kitchen scraps added to the pile. It’s important to add leaves, dead grass or grass clippings, carboard scraps, paper scraps or similar carbonaceous material at a ratio of 50/50 to keep the nitrogenous fruit and vegetable scraps composting as desired while also preventing bugs and/or animals from scavenging the pile. Oh and dont forget to have some fun turning the pile to keep it aerated! Cheers to regenerative living and the earthworm’s eye view!
