I decided to make a simple and easy bird feeder from some scrap wood I had lying around. I used a piece of wood that measured one by one by twelve inches, but it actually came out to about three quarters by eleven and a half inches.

I cut out four pieces: two larger sides and two smaller ones. I didn't want it to be too big, just big enough to keep dispensing seed as the birds eat. I cut a hole on each side, like you see on typical bird feeders, and added a hinge on the back for easy refilling. I also drilled some holes at the bottom to let water drain out.

The wood was a bit rough, and I didn't bother painting or sanding it since the birds don’t care about looks—they just want food. Once it was assembled, I filled it with seed, and the birds loved it.

Even though it’s not pretty, this simple bird feeder works great and keeps the birds happy. It goes to show that you don't need anything fancy to make something functional.
