ALEX JONES IS LOSING IT ALL! AGREES TO LIQUIDATE ASSETS TO SETTLE $1.5 BIL LAWSUIT

The Sandy Hook families sued Alex Jones, the host of InfoWars, for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Jones had repeatedly claimed that the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, which killed 20 children and six adults, was a "hoax" staged by the government to promote gun control. He also claimed that the families of the victims were "crisis actors" and that the shooting was fabricated.

The families of the victims, including the parents of some of the children who were killed, sued Jones and his media company, Free Speech Systems, for spreading these false and harmful conspiracy theories. They alleged that Jones' statements had caused them significant emotional distress and harm, and had also led to harassment and threats from others who believed the conspiracy theories.

In 2022, a Texas jury awarded the families $1.44 billion in damages, and a Connecticut jury awarded them another $965 million. Jones was also found liable for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress in both cases.

The lawsuits were seen as a significant blow to Jones and his conspiracy theories, and a victory for the families of the Sandy Hook victims who had been subjected to harassment and abuse by those who believed the false claims.
