Chapter 36 1970 TransAm Clone - Shifter & Steering

Cutout transmission tunnel. Fabricated mounting box for shifter. Installed and final welded shifter box into trans tunnel. Installed shifter. Verified shifter operation

Cut steering intermediate shaft to correct length and test fit. Shortened steering shaft 3 more inches to full extension and mocked up. Installed front steering linkage for mock-up.

Modify seat mount bracket for use without the sliders and lower profile of seat. Install seat for test fit and roll cage main hoop placement.

Install windshield wiper system

Ordered coolers for power steering and rear differential. Ordered additional coolers for oil and transmission.
