WDYT #37 Rape in Islam

Rape in Islam is a peculiar animal. What the West calls rape in marriage, is classified as a marital right in Islam. It is very difficult to prove rape, and when a woman fails to satisfy the very narrow requirements of Islamic law in court, she becomes guilty of fornication and adultery by her own admission, and receives a severe punishment. Guilty or innocent the woman is classified as a whore by the community, and may be honour killed by family for bringing disgrace upon the family.
