Chicken Borek is a flavorful and aromatic dish that often combines Middle Eastern and South Asian culinary elements. Here's a simple recipe for you to try:
Chicken Borek Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Chicken Filling:
500g boneless chicken breast or thigh, finely chopped or minced
4 large onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon ground paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
3 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
For the Yogurt-Tahini Sauce:
1cup plain yogurt
3 tablespoons tahini
2 tablespoons lemon juice
salt, black pepper, coriander and cumin
Prepare the Chicken Filling:
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the chopped onions and cook until they are soft and translucent.
Add the chopped or minced chicken to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
Add the cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Cook, stirring frequently, until the spices are well blended.
Remove the filling from the heat and let it cool slightly.
Assemble the Borek:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Place the Borek on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and crisp.
Serve:
Serve hot with a side of yogurt dip or salad.
