How The Simpsons Became Woke

In 2017, The Simpsons’ character Apu was cancelled, with voice actor Hank Azaria being accused of using “brownvoice”. In 2019, The Simpsons became the legal property of The Walt Disney Company. In 2020, it was decided that voice actors’ real ethnicities had to match the fictional ethnicities of the characters they played. So characters like Carl, Lou, and Dr Hibbert voiced by white people, were re-cast with African American voice actors. Alternatively, the producers could have simply said, “This is stupid!”, and just changed the fictional colour of the characters using their computers. “Dr Hibbert! What happened to your skin!?” “He, he, he. Don’t worry children. I’ve just got a rare form of yellowmysitisis. It’s completely harmless.” “But your voice is exactly the same?” “Why would my voice change?” It was also decided that after 30 years of Homer strangling Bart, enough was enough. People might start copying the cartoon and strangling their real children. And that’s how The Simpsons became woke.
