Check the difference between the speed I made over 300 surgeries per year to have a Sega master system with fully working mods :-)

Master System 2 50/60hz switch and gold plated AV mod to be able to play favourite games on Full HD TV, with power LED to know if the console is on or off :-)

The Pal Master System (models 1 and 2) has two disadvantages over its Ntsc US and Japanese counterparts:
1) it runs and displays Master System games at a 17% slower speed than Ntsc US or JAP machines
2) a lot of Pal games have big black borders at the bottom and the top of the screen

Basically, this means that if you own a basic, unmodified Sega Master System, you own is a crippled machine and what's worse, you've not been playing your games in the comfort that you paid for. And no, this isn't just a 'Sega thing', all brands crippled their Pal systems for the European and Australian markets. A good reason to do mod 50Hz/60hz and play games at full speed and the other mods to play it on a 4K TV :-)
