Honda was founded in 1948 by Soichiro Honda and Takeo Fujisawa in Japan. Initially, it produced motorized bicycles, using surplus engines from World War II. Honda quickly became known for its motorcycles, launching its first major success, the Honda Super Cub, in 1958.In 1963, Honda entered the automobile market with the T360 mini truck and the S500 sports car. The company gained a reputation for reliable, fuel-efficient vehicles, epitomized by models like the Civic (introduced in 1972) and the Accord (introduced in 1976). Honda was also a pioneer in developing low-emission vehicles, notably with the CVCC engine.Honda expanded globally, establishing manufacturing plants and research facilities worldwide. In addition to cars and motorcycles, Honda is a major producer of power equipment, such as generators and lawnmowers, and has ventured into robotics and aviation with the HondaJet.Throughout its history, Honda has been involved in motorsports, particularly in Formula One and MotoGP, achieving significant success and technological advancements through these endeavors.
