Nǐ hǎo! :D

This week, we look at an often forgotten airliner that was something of a pioneer, the Shanghai Y-10, the first commercial jet aircraft of the People's Republic of China.

In the years following the communist takeover of Chairman Mao, and with the rise of the Boeing 707 as the leading commercial aircraft design, China desired the creation of its own version in order to suit its isolationist stance against the capitalist West, and brought about the Y-10 as a proof-of-concept to form the basis of a wider range of airliners.
