Alaska's pristine streams and rivers are turning a rusty orange color, impacting the natural water environments including acidifying the waterways, and people's food and water source, and even the tourist and recreation economy. It's believed the thawing permafrost is releasing metals what were locked in the frozen ground, which gets into the waterways. It is so visible it can be seen from space.
