As a significant milestone, Rev. Ray stands as the pioneering openly LGBT African American clergy to lead a mainstream church in Dallas, TX. Previously serving as the Senior Pastor at Central Congregational Church, where he made history as its first openly gay and African American pastor in over 117 years, he now holds the position of Lead Pastor at First Community Church of Dallas United Church of Christ. In this role, he continues to break barriers, being the first African American and openly gay pastor in the church's over 70-year history.
