The famous actor, satirist and former MP Janusz Rewiński died at the age of 74. "Buenas noches, Senior Siarra!" - wrote his son, Jonah, on social media.

"The Farewell That Wasn't Supposed to Be"
Janusz Rewiński's death was announced by his son, Jonasz Rewiński, on social media.

"A farewell that was not supposed to happen. On June 1, Dad fought with his health. Unfortunately, this time he couldn't cope," wrote the son of a famous satirist.

"For many years, Dad gave joy and smiles not only to us, but also to everyone around us. Now the world is the same, but the smile suddenly disappeared," we read in the entry.

"Janusz Rewiński. Actor, satirist, member of the Sejm of the 1st term. Thank you for everything. Wherever you are now, we hope that they 'have momentum'. Buenas noches, Senior Siarra!" - wrote Jonasz Rewiński.

Janusz Rewiński was born on September 16, 1949 in Żary. In 1972, he graduated from the Acting Department of the State Higher Theater School. Ludwik Solski in Krakow. He began his artistic activity with performances in the cabaret program "Meeting with Ballada" , broadcast on TVP2, and in Krakow's Piwnica Pod Baranami.

A wide audience associates him with the role of Miśek in Olga Lipińska's Kabaret and Edward Nowak in the series "Tigers of Europe". He made his debut on the big screen in 1983 in "Dreams and Dreams" by Paweł Pitera and Janusz Petelski as the head of the television editorial office. He also played, among others, boatswain Bank in Krzysztof Gradowski's "Podróży Pana Kleks" (1985), deputy minister Jerzy in Marek Piwowski's "The Abduction of Agata" (1993), Stefan "Siara" Siarzewski in "Kiler" and "Kiler-ów 2-óch" by Juliusz Machulski (1997 and 1999) and a bank director in "Ryś" by Stanisław Tym (2007).

He was one of the organizers of the "Beer Scouts" association, which in 1990 turned into the Polish Party of Beer Friends. In 1991, he became a member of the Sejm on behalf of this party. In 2010, he was a member of the committee supporting Jarosław Kaczyński in the presidential elections, and five years later he supported Andrzej Duda's presidential campaign.

In 2010, Janusz Rewiński received the silver medal "Gloria Artis for Merit to Culture". In 2016, he was awarded the gold medal "Gloria Artis for Merit to Culture".
